Cummins welcomes the establishment of Tegus EMEA HQ in Waterford

  • Up to 100 jobs to be created over the next 2 years

Waterford Fine Gael Senator John Cummins has warmly welcomed the announcement by US headquartered Tegus, a leading provider of primary business and market intelligence, to establish its EMEA HQ in Waterford City and create up to 100 jobs over the next two years.

“It is fantastic to see another IDA jobs announcement for Waterford on the back of recent announcements by Bauch and Lomb, Repligen and Horizon Therapeutics. The creation of up to 100 skilled roles by Tegus is a welcome addition to ever growing tech cluster in the South East region and is a further vote of confidence in Waterford as an attractive location for inward investment. I wish the company every success as they grow and expand their team in Waterford.

Senator Cummins added “I have been working closely with Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar to emphasise the importance of job creation in Waterford and the wider South East region. Since Fine Gael came into government, we have seen the continued upward trend of IDA supported employment in Waterford. Job numbers have increased by over 50% from 5217 in 2011 to 7875 at the end of 2020 and I look forward to this trend continuing in the time ahead.

Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar TD said “I’m really happy Tegus has chosen Waterford for its new EMEA HQ. This will result in the creation of up to 100 new jobs in the city. This is great news for the South-East and a real boost for Waterford City and once again demonstrates we have the skills and talent available in all parts of the country to attract foreign direct investment.”

“Tegus will be located in state-of-the-art office space at Boxworks while it identifies a permanent office space in Waterford City, attracting talent from the city, county and the wider region of the South East. We are seeing more and more institutional investors and corporations incorporating qualitative and primary research into their processes to make better and faster decisions"

Senator Cummins concluded by saying “I understand that the company have multiple open roles advertised on their website in the areas of account management, customer operations, HR, analysts, software engineers and product designers. I would encourage anyone with the skillsets required to reach out to the company.
